“seek and be able to recognize who and what, in the midst of the hell, are not hell, then make them endure, give them space”

Discovering how the the city and urban spaces transform from context to a spatial equivalent of personal experiences, creating a personal route along the way; exploring the space building components of cities imagined along this route, and mapping all of these experiences… To sum things up, in Calvino’s words, it’s the idea of being able to “seek and be able to recognize who and what, in the midst of the hell, are not hell, then make them endure, give them space” that serves as a guide for this exhibition.

The “UrbanObscura / Cities: Changing Routes Changing Maps”

The “UrbanObscura / Cities: Changing Routes Changing Maps” exhibition, which opens on June 9, 2017 at Galeri Siyah Beyaz, brings artists who create in various disciplines together to contribute to the development of the UrbanObscura project which supported by Architects’ Association 1927, and to draw attention to the fact that routes and maps also change in line with the ongoing urban-architectural transformation.
